CFL clutter, we’ll eat it!

Having trouble recycling old CFL’s (compact flourescent lightbulbs).  There is a new drop off location in Airdrie for them.

The Bulb Eater

The City’s Environmental Services has purchased a new machine called The Bulb Eater which processes the components of florescent tubes and compact florescent bulbs and prepares them for recycling. The machine crushes and captures the glass, captures the mercury and the metal components all in different containers for them to be taken to their respective recycling destinations.

If you can not make it to Airdrie, Gold Seal Homes will operate a bin at the RONA store and we will drop the bulbs off for you.
