Paul Brandt – Builds it Forward

The other night our staff enjoyed a special evening with Paul Brandt at the Calgary Home Builder Association’s September Dinner Meeting.  While we were being entertained with Paul’s immense talent and unique wit, we all came to learn more about a special initiative that he has spearheaded;

‘This September, Corus Entertainment’s  CMT (Canada) presents the premiere of Paul Brandt’s BUILD IT FORWARD, a  series about inspiring individuals and communities to give of themselves  and create a better world for everyone in it. Produced by Corkscrew  Media Inc., in association with CMT (Canada), this series premieres  Saturday, September 17 at 10 p.m. ET.

Hosted by country music star Paul Brandt,  BUILD IT FORWARD chronicles the emotional journey of seven separate  families at risk of homelessness who will be receiving a new home. While  the recipient family works first hand and receives the goodwill and  grace of donations and volunteers in the creation of their new home,  they are also required to “build it forward” by volunteering in their  own community as well as travelling abroad to help build for others in  need.

Paul Brandt is the most awarded male Canadian country artist in history.  Although his roots started far from stardom, today his fan base, music  and philanthropic efforts reach small towns, across big cities and  beyond international borders. Born in Calgary, Alberta, his first big  break was in 1996 with the single “My Heart has a History”, which hit  number one in Canada and made him the first Canadian male country artist  to reach the Billboard Top Ten in the US since Hank Snow in 1974. A  Gold (US) and Triple Platinum (Canada) selling album, “Calm Before the  Storm”, followed. Paul has nine tremendously successful albums to his  credit to date. In addition to his music, Paul also has a strong passion  for helping people, working with a number of charities, including his  own foundation, The Priceless Gift of Hope Foundation (priceles$), and  being involved with humanitarian pursuits around the globe.’ (source: Corus)
